SV_ 60 lbs in 6 months!

I am so excited!!!  This is beyond my wildest dreams!!!  My surgery was 6 months ago and today I am down 60 lbs from that day.   I have this feeling of inner peace and joy from this experience. It had been everything I expected and more.  Moreover, I have this feeling of accomplishment that I have not had in many years.    I have worked for every ounce I have lost, I have climbed the (metaphorical) mountain and conquered the beast!  I return victorious!  I am the "Little Engine."  I have endured the liquids, mushies, fills, AND hunger: sometimes serious HUNGER!  I have worked through the emotions and the snacking and laziness...I feel empowered!!!  (Do I sound nuts?  I can't express this right...going to quit while I'm ahead here!) I know my ticker says 78 lbs- That includes the 18 I lost on the pre-op diet...I worked for all those ounces too!!   Does the band work???  My pre-op diet was 6 months also!  I lost 18 lbs on my own.  I have lost 60 with my band in the same time period.  (and I WAS one of those people who didn't think it would work for me...or not this well anyway.) you go right a ahead and babble all you want.. it is so exciting to lose 60lbs what a new lease on life we all have.. I m very happy I had the sugery. doesnt matter the Band or the RNY it all ends in the same. US all losing weight be happy and healthy.. You have done a great job have a great day Barb

Thank you so much! I agree that the surgery doesn't matter at all!  Summer (SummerPinME) Is my closest WLS supporter and a good friend...I am thrilled for her and her RNY and she is great about my band.  Whatever keeps us sane and healthy should be the choice...not "us" vs. "them."  Of course I am curently jealous of Summer's b-day steak dinner that I can not eat this month..my band is too tight for steak!!!    I would if I tried steak right now!!!  :) Sheli (the band does work trhing was mostly a note to me, because i had so many worries that I chose the wrong thing. I was right on the line between the two surgeries and my doc let me choose...I spent 3 months thinking I had made the wrong "guess."  I am so glad it is working!)

So sorry to rub it in, but DAMN was my steak yummy last night .... and for lunch today ,.. and for lunch tomorrow! TEEHEE

You asked for it!!! It was like 3 inches thick and JUICY and so tender it felt like I could cut it with a butter knife. Chewing it well took NO effort. The top was crusted with this yummy spice blend and it was wonderfully medium rare. It was TRULY delicious with a side of corn and garlic mashed potatoes. I'm eating my third helping of it for lunch momentarily. Are you drooling yet???

Thank You!!  That sounds so good.   I am only a little jealous.  I will try steak and chicken again soon.  My fill feels better this week than last...I love that it loosens up, I hate that I let it be a little to tight though. Thanks for telling me about your steak!!!  :) Sheli
