Stess Test - anyone every have one?

They found an "abnormality" in my EKG last week - now I have to go to Bangor for a stress test tomorrow afternoon.....I have no idea what to expect and am nervous they've found something that could prevent me from having this surgery.

I am thinking they hook you up with the probes and have you go on a treadmill and monitor your heart while its working hard.. Try to relax. Prayers that it will just be nothing.   Good Luck

I have had a couple of stress tests...and the one that where the inject dye into your system and take x rays (Not xrays but close enough) it nuclear stuff they inject into ya...but yes they  hook you up with wire and have you walk on a treadmill..they dont make you do any more than you can and if it to much all you have to do is tell them. there was a doctor and a nurse there while i was having mine.It was like 20mins at the most..rest of the time was sitting waiting,.I passed it just fine.. come to find out it was my gallbladder that was givng me all the trouble it was like i was having heart attack.. My thought will be with you but you will be ok...good thing to have it checked out and make sure everything is ok before surgery... Barb

Thanks for the responses - I'm not sure what it was all about, but I didn't have to have the stress test afterall - they did a second ekg - but when I got there, there was nothing about any abnormalities.....oh well, this should be the last I hope.....six days until surgery!!!!
