Support group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've thought about it since I was a pre-op.  I have always thought there should be a support group in the mid-coast area.  It is hard for a lot of us to get to the surgeon's meetings since they are often a way's away.  I love public speaking, and am very passionate about helping others in this journey.  I still need to decide on a time and place for meetings, but it will likely be a Saturday morning thing here in the Topsham/Brunswick area.  Likely once a month to start till I see what the group wants to do.  I've signed up with OH to start the "Maine Melters".  I'll let you know when/if I am approved as a leader. Anyone interested in joining?  Got any ideas or advice? Thanks!! Jeannie

Have you talked to mid-coast hospital about using one of their small conference rooms?  I know they have other support groups there (not always sponsored by doctors offices.) Post when you get it up and running, I'd love a local group!  :) Sheli

Thank you, Sheli!  I have thought about them.  That would be a great location and easy for people to find.  I need to talk to them.  If they can't/won't do it, I plan to talk to the Topsham Library.  They have a nice meeting room.   I'll let you know when I plan the first meeting.  It will likely be a Saturday morning thing.  One of the problems I have in attending the Portland one is I'm often working late during the week.  In my new position, though, I have almost every Saturday off/  I figure there are likely more people off on Saturday than on weekdays, so it should be good. Hi Jaywoe! Sounds great!  I just might come!!  I don't mind the traveling.  I don't know if you saw my post, but I will be hosting a summer gathering for us that post on the Maine Forum.
