Heading for Insurance Approval shortly!
Someone pinch me because I am just too excited. So background---everything is done and ni except my sleep study. Which they are back logged for several months. So I was devastated that it was going to take that long since it was all I was waiting for. So I spoke with Dr. Loggins yesterday and he made some calls. They totally bumped me up and did a verbal reading to him today. So not officially on paper, but they told him I did not have sleep apnea, but something about desaturation in breathing a few times---so they can say I have mild sleep apnea that does not require a machine (and no need for a 2nd test).
So he then said "So as long as the arterial blood gas is in --which usually opnly takes a day---we will go ahead with your case on Tuesday and I don't see why we wouldn't be moving forward for insurance approval." As a note, I got my blood gas done yesterday, so it should totally be in tomorrow in plenty of time.
I am soooooooooo excited! I have no idea how long my insurance (Harvard Pilgrim-Health Plans) takes for an answer.
It seemed like such a loooong process---I am so excited it is almost here.
Kathy---I had 5 different people try on 4 separate trips to the hospital! The first guy had the shakes and totally hit my nerve---ouch. He then tried again and on the other writs. No luck so they sent me home. Went back another day and a new older guy tried...again couldn't get it. 3rd time this very nice older man tried and again could not get the artery. Then he says "geesh you have been here so many times--but I don't want to try the arm. If we mess up something in the wrist there are 2 arteries supplying blood so it would be okay, if something happened in the arm you would lose the use of it." I was like----what the heck---had I known something like that could happen I probably wouldn't have let the hippy with the shakes try the first time.
I really didn't want to go back, but I needed it done. So I went on Wednesday---cuti-patootie came down and did it no probalem and I swear I didn't even feel it. So I think it depends on who you get. Glad they got it!
