How quick sizes go down??
Okay, I know we shouldn't buy a ton of clothes ahead of time, but I was wondering how quickly you were in other sizes? I know everyone is different, but I would like to make a good guess for myself. There is a huge sale at Old Navy (ends today---I went yesterday). It is 50% off of the clearance prices. I went to stock up for the babies for next winter. I was surprised to see a ton of spring/summer clothes on the clearance (probably last season). This stuff was like 6 bucks, then 50% off that. So I bought 2 pair of cute capri pants (one black and one brown). Only 3 bucks each. That really is cheaper than goodwill around here!
So I wanted to pick up a few more things just in case. I mean if they don't fit or I only wear them a few times it's ok---same price as an iced coffee (decaf of course) ya know. So I bought 14's. Wishful thinking. So I am hoping to have surgery at end of Feb early March. I am 255 now and am in a 22. I was wondering what the chances were I might be in a 14 by june or July? For background I can wear a 14 when I am 185ish---been there---and right back up again.
I wouldn't get tops since I have such a hard time with tops and they only go the norma L, XL, XXL---I would have no clue what I would be there.
How long did it take to go down sizes? Wonder if there is a chance (assuming I lose on average and workout) I could be 185 by July.
I think you would be about right for wanting to be a 14 in July. I weighed 264 on my first appointment and 241 before surgery. As of this morning I weigh 184 (exactly 80 pounds gone!!!). I was a 22/24 and now take a 14/16 for shirts I was a 3X and now a XL. I bought a pair of 12's for my goal pants about 6 months ago at Fashion Bug. They are so cute, they have lace on the pockets and ribbon roses and bows on the front. I also bought a pink shirt to match size med. I'm hoping to get into them by spring.
As far as your boob question, mine were 44 C/D now they're 36 C. They shrank in proportion to my body so far. I tried on some fancy ones but my boobs are to floppy, I need ones with some kind of support. Hopefully when the weight loss has finished I will still have something there to roll up into a bra and make it look like boobs.

CherylHi, Tanya
I’m roughly the same size as you, I also started buying clothes too I started buying medium and large tops that are on clearance. I have no idea about pant size because i can fit in 3 different sizes right now. If I pass the size or they don’t fit I plan on just putting them in a garage sale or something. I’m hopping to have surgery hopefully end of Feb. early March (wishful thinking). I’m not sure if I’m being realistic but I’m hopping to be down to a size 16-12 also. July is 5 or 6 months away and some people who have been 260ish have lost about 60-70lbs in 5 to 6 months or even 100 depending on body type. But I’m not an expert just from surfing profiles it’s what I’ve seen. 185 by July is very realistic!! Bust of Luck
Tanya,
I'll be all of 6 months out by the end of the month and I already find that I've dropped a number of dress sizes!
I was originally in a 26/28 depending on style. I am now in a 14/16 again depending on style! I'm buying a few odds and ends as I need them but I don't go all out spending tons of money (1- I don't have cash to throw around and 2- I know this particular phase won't last long!
) I've contemplated buying a few clearance items for next summer but I'm not even going to guess where I'll be size wise by then. The last time I was at what is now my goal weight, I wore a size 10! The way it's going now, I may be smaller then that when I get there again.
With but a little over 20 pounds to go to reach my goal, I feel pretty confident in saying I'll be AT goal or below by the time my surgery anniversary arrives.
What a difference this surgery has made in my life! I've gotten my life back in many ways and it's a wonderful feeling.
Keep up the great attitude. With a positive mindset, one can accomplish a lot! I thank God daily that He has given me back my life!
Anne
