anyone here have lap band?

Is there any one here in this Maine forum have lap band? I have been to the lap band section and most of the people are from other states. I had my lap band done by Dr. Wolff in Portland. Hard to find others. Most people I see are going for RNY. Linda

I am in the pre surgery stage for the Lap Band, and will be having my surgery in Portland as well. I am currently doing a 6 month supervised diet. 

I also am currently waitng for Lap band surgery with Dr. Cobean. I have my third visit Monday. I have finished my 6 month suprvised weith loss efforts for my insurance....

Im happy to see some people who are seeing Dr. Cobean...and in the process like me. Thank you all for posting! It helps to hear all of your experinces.

Hi. I'll be having the Lap Band too.  I go in to take the nutrition quiz with Barbara on Wed. the 16th.  And then I see Laura.  After that, HOPEFULLY, I'll sign consent and get a tentative date!  YAY!  I can't wait! I'm also going to Dr. Cobean in Portland!   I really like the staff at that office. They are all so nice and willing to answer any questions.   Maybe I'll see you ladies at a meeting sometime. I have a band and live here in Maine. I was banded in August by Dr Trieu at Maine Bariatrics (Maine General Hospital in Augusta.)

HI, LInda, I'm from Lewiston and live in Poland now, but am in process for Lap Band w. Loggins.  I am very excited and can't wait.  got my Phyc eval this week. hopeing for maybe end of Feb or March for surgery, that is if all goes my way.  how you doing?  are you happy you chose the band?  Dr. Loggins was pro RNY, but I feel the band is for me.  keep in touch, cheryl
