Might miss my appointment with Corinne

Hi all,

Need to vent for a minute. I love the snow but not when I need to go to Lewiston for a very important appointment. Right now it's snowing and will til morning. I'm supposed to be in Lewiston at 8 am to see Corinne for hopefully my last appointment. I'm afraid I won't make it due to the snow. Even worse is I had to wait 5 weeks to get this appointment and really don't want to wait that long again. I was really hoping to have surgery in February and I fear this will screw up the whole process.

Another thing...I had lost 10 pounds my first 5 weeks and the last 5 weeks I've only lost a couple. The holiday's is a very hard time to lose weight. I have been active with snow removal (shoveling and snowblowing) but haven't done much with the walking. It does take over an hour to clear my yard and yesterday it took 3 hours over 2 times cleaning.

I guess I need reassurance that's I won't have to wait 5 weeks to see Corinne and she won't be disappointed with such a minimal weight loss.

Happy New Year everyone!

Oh wow you have a little way to travel. I have to be there to meet with the team tomorrow afternoon yikes not looking forward to going in this weather either.Call their office now and see what they can do for you. Who knows maybe Corrine wouldn't mind staying later to see you so she doesn't have to travel that early either .. Call now if you can

Corinne won't be disappointed with you. That would mean making a judgement and she would NEVER do that! She'll want to see your food log for the past 5 weeks to be sure that you're meeting your goals that she gave you ( like getting enough protein grams in, getting enough fluid in, staying in your calorie range etc. ) I think that's the biggie! Oh! And getting off as much of that ten percent weight loss as possible - how are you doing with that??? I'm sure if they have to cancel on you (or vice versa) because of the weather that they'll find a way to reschedule you ASAP. They're great about that! For what it's worth, I don't think even an ounce lost would be "minimal" as you called it! It isn't a gain! The scale is moving in the right direction! :)

Thanks guys. I needed that. I just called the office and got the answering service. I told them I would call tomorrow to reschedule but I think I will ask to be seen at the end of the day if possible. That's a great idea. I was really hoping to lose 5 or more pounds but I'll be happy with maintaining what I originally lost. Especially around the holidays. I did resist most of it but had a little too. Enough that I didn't lose. I've been honest an written everything down. Including the handfulls of chocolate.

It's a little less than a 2 hour drive for you right?  Well 2 hours in good weather anyway.

I'm 4 hours from all of my appointments.  I spoke to the coordinator about the drive and weather before I began the EMMC program and was told everything would be fine if the weather gets in my way.  I was told it'll take a little time for the reschedule but not as long as it took to schedule the original appointment.  I just hope the coordinator was bing truthful with me. I assume you also spoke to someone about weather conditions so you know their procedure?

I did. When I was scheduled for Jan. 2nd. I said I'd make it pending on the weather. I also own a home sales business and always tell my hostesses pending on the weather during the winter months. I just want this soooo bad. I need to take a breath and relax. I appreciate all the responses. They are greatly appreciated.

I think you're completly on track.  Everything will work out okay. So...how much snow are you supposed to get?  They're calling for only 5-7 inches here.  It hasn't begun yet but no doubt it'll be very, very slow going to work in the morning.

Good morning. I'm just wondering how you made out with your rescheduling your appointment. You were supposed to get more snow down there than we did up here...maybe you're still cleaning out your driveway?  The wind is quite fierce and supposed to get worse.  I'm glad you were smart and rescheduled.

Good news all. I have an appointment for the 16th at 4 pm. That gives me a couple of weeks to lose some Christmas weight. I'd be thrilled with a pound or two.

For snow. How disappointing. Mostly freezing rain. We might have gotten an inch or two but nothing like inland where some got 10 inches.

It's a new day and I'm happy to be able to enjoy it.

Happy New Year everyone!

Freezing rain is horrible to walk or drive in. I'm glad you are safe.
