50 lbs GONE in 5 months!!!

I am down 50 (and a half) pounds since surgery...68.5 total including my pre-op starvation.

My loss so far has been amazing to me...I was hoping to get under 200 by New Years...I never expected to be this low this soon. (Lap-Band is usually a MUCH slower loss than RNY)
My loss is slowing down now due to a combination of things: I upped my exercise which always slows down my loss...weird but true. I also have had a few more snacks than I need to be eating. I am becoming a bit complacement about the rules as I get closer to goal. When I look in the mirror I like what I see. I plan to keep losing, I want to keep losing but at the same time IF I stopped here forever I would not be devastated.

That being said I am trying to get my head straight and keep moving forward. I have only 32.5 pounds until my personal goal (145lbs) and a normal BMI (24.9). I hope to get there in the next 8 months- making me 1 year to goal from surgery. This is better than my wildest dreams thought it would be.

Thanks and Hugs to all my Maine friends...it's good to know you're all here and that you undrstand!!! (I mean- who else is going to understand that I cried when the scale said 177.5....and it was tears of joy not sadness!!!)

Congratulations Sheli!  Your doing Awesome!  Sounds like you have 68.5 good reasons to celebrate!   The New Year is a great time to make sure your focused, have a New Year plan for success & reaching your goal in place, and a list of rewards ready to enjoy as you reach your mini goals along the way!  Don't sell yourself short by stopping too soon.  Your worth more!  You deserve to reach your goal and celebrate being healthy the rest of your life!   Keep reaching.... We're all here to cheer you on!  Besides, it's always nice to have a "justifiable" reason to celebrate!  LOL   Blessings, Yvonne
