Hi Everyone! I apologize for not posting sooner, but I had major problems with email/internet service and they FINALLY fixed it today!

Anyways, I am now 13 days post op (surgery on 12/14) and I am doing SO good.  I have lost so far 26lbs.  I can't believe it.  I had my 2 week follow up (early) yesterday and everyone is so pleased with my progress.  I can't believe how wonderful I actually feel.  Since the day of surgery I have felt great.  The minute I was brought to my room I was up and walking and only stopped to sleep.

My diet was advanced yesterday to soft or pureed foods and go**** has been so difficult to eat even that.  I've been doing all liquids for the past 5 weeks and I've become so used to it that I really don't even care about food anymore.  I have to say my biggest complaint at this point is that everything that I've tried between yesterday and today all tastes either REALLY bland and all the same or to the extreme of tasting down right disgusting!  Has anyone else had this problem before?  If so, do you think it's because my taste has become so used to the liquids?  I'm figuring on this reason so I've decided to just ease into it just like I did when I first started with all of the liquids.

Well, thank you all for your support before, during and of course after surgery.  This was the best thing I could have given myself and I thank God for allowing me another chance at living my life to its fullest! ~Cathy :)

Hi I started with  egg,   egg drop  soup, and apple sauce and yes they didnt taste very good.  It seems like i go thru that  every so often that nothing smells good or tastes good.  But then i  have good days and   it smells wonderful. I  do  cottage cheese and that is bland anyways.  I go to doctors and nut in two weeks and cant wait to advance diet so i can have all the things that i think i want to try lol.   Take  care and  nice to hear from you. Glad you are doing so good. I was told that the anesthecia can affect your taste. BUT after surgery while in the hospital i was weird everything tasted like they dumped a whole salt shaker of salt on it. I HATE salt it was awful even the water tasted like that ! Get those fluids in Pam
