This is how I start my day

So I get up from being up off and on all night with a baby with a stuffy nose.  I have been trying out a few protein drinks here and there---just to try and also to help with my pre-surgery weightloss (which is just not going so well).  Anyways, I make a chocolate mint one in the shaker that came wit the bariatric eating sample pack.  I twist my wrist back and forth right to left instead of up and down.  The top pops and chocolate protein drink comes flying out all over the wall and on the back side all over me and my face.  There were dots of chocolate ALL over the place!  I think it is gonna be one of those days! I have my first meeting with the sleep study doc today.  Just meeting with him.  I was bummed when I found out he was just meeting with me first (I wonder what for?)  I thought I might actually get some uninterupted sleep! Anyone have the sleep study.  How long do you normally sleep for.  It is sad that even though I would be hooked up to a gazillion things I am actually looking forward to it ha ha.

I had to make an appointment to see someone before my sleep study also they talked to me and got some information. They also looked down my throut, felt my neck and did some test of how I breathe. I had a clip on my nose and I had to blow out into a machine. I don't know what that told them but they said it was normal.   I had to have 2 sleep studies before surgery. The first one was a regular one and the second one was with a CPAP machine. I slept pretty good the first time, I think they said about 6 hours. But the second one was horrible!! That was the first time ever hooked up to a CPAP and it drove me crazy!! Everytime I tried to swallow or anything it was like someone blowing really hard up my nose. They said I had sleep apnea and sent me home with one of those torture devices which I used about a week. I know I wasn't supposed to stop using it but I couldn't sleep at all at home with it.    Anyways to make a long story short about a month after I had the machine they made an appointment for me to go in and bring a little card in the back of the machine that measures how much and often I used it. I almost died!!!!  I didn't know there was something that was going to tell on me for not using it. So I had to suck it up and let them know I wasn't using it. They told me to start using it and come back in another month. I still couldn't sleep with it so I just turned it on and let it run during the night and turned it off when I woke up. The little card said I used it everynight and I didn't get into trouble. I was told I needed to bring it to the hospital with me before surgery so I did have to use it there but I wasn't sleeping anyway so it didn't matter.   Hope your day goes better, Cheryl

just becareful about turning it on and letting it run. it will so a major air leak.. because that is what I was doing. Lincare told me the difference and now they have my machine until the doc turns it down to a 8. I hate my machine also i sleep less with it then wihout it.. I think it is a big money gab.. they charge my insurance 500 a month for the darn thing..If I needed it it would be one thing but I really dont think I do. I will find out for sure when I go for my 3rd sleep study on 12/30. MY sleep doctor is a ass. and wont listen to me we dont get along at all because I tell him. So we got into it on the phone and I told him I want a second opinion he said he will turn me over to one of his doctor in the office and said no I will find another one  well my pcp will,,,,I will be going to some one at saint joes not penboscot respitory..
