Hi all,

I have my one on one appointment tomorrow with Corinne. I have five weeks of journals and have lost 10 pounds. I'm hoping to pass with flying colors but several of you have said I'll have to see her a second time before she will pass me. Keep your fingers crossed for a Christmas miracle.

Lisa, try to be calm. I remember jumping thru all the hoops thinking ya the surgery will never get here. But it seems at the end it really goes fast.

I found that at the first meeting with Corrine she's kind of rough with the journal but the second time is much better. She said she never passes anyone on their first visit. She'll find things that need improvement and next time check to make sure their better. My thing on the first visit was to many frozen diet dinners and eating salty snacks like pretzels.   Good luck, you may be the first one who passes the first time because a 10 pound weight loss is great for just 5 weeks!!   Keep up the good work, Cheryl

Thanks Cheryl,

I'm hoping to pass. I've kept my calories around 1400. Having a really hard time getting them lower. I don't do salty snacks and have had protein bars, cheese sticks, cottage cheese, fit and light yogurt, tofu, veggies, low sodium sliced meats (have to ask special at the deli), whole grain breads, s/f pudding, etc. I exercise at least 4 times a week. Although over Thanksgiving I did not exercise but I was very careful on my intake.

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Well, first off, that is a FAB loss in just 5 weeks! WTG! That's top notch! Sounds like you're eating well too! Are you also hitting your 60-80 grams of protein a day?? If so, you really are a super star! :) BUT, PLEASE don't get your hopes up. She won't pass you tomorrow. Not trying to be negative, but according to what she told us in class (and at my own appts), and in talking to other patients, She'll want to see you atleast once more. She never passes anyone until after AT LEAST 2 one on ones suppossedly. I met with her twice but my roommate at the hospital met with her for a year!! I just don't want you to set yourself up for a big let down tomorrow! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you though!

Sounds greast!  I have been keeping mine for 2 1/2 weeks now and have lost like 2 pounds :(  I know my porblem though I think.  I eat around 1500 calories but later.  With the twins it is so hard to get set times in, I need to work on that.  It might be 10pm and I am having a pm snack----bad bad. Good luck!  Let us know how it goes!

Don't worry about those 2 pounds! Your body is in shock! It'll start coming off! I lost 19 pounds in the ten weeks between my initial consult with Dr. Loggins and pre-op appt. It'll come off! I swear! (not to be gross, but a reminder that the last time you had a BM and where youa re in your menstral cycle plays a role in there too - both now and post-op!)

Can't wait to hear how it goes.  I knew we were supposed to be losing weight, trying to get in our protein and water---but I didn't know we were supposed to be doing asll the rest.  I have had a lot of the frozen diet meals and they are loaded in sodium.  I know not to have a lot of sodium in general---but I thought the goal was to get used to serving sizes, count protein and water consumption.  Now I feel like I might be behind since I am sill having diet ice cream as a mini snack for doing so well all day......yikes.

It's ok to do the frozen meals! They're fine. Corrine was cool with me eating those! I haven't had one post-op but there's no real reason why you can't! I'd drink a little extra water if I ate one of those now though!

Ice cream is ok too. She actually told me that one of her patients ate one of those Skinny Cow min fidgesicles every day! I had some of those during my journaling days too. It's ok! Just right everything down!

You're right that the goal is to get used to the serving sizes, your water and the protein! Those are really important! That's all that matters in the end - that you have figured out how to get your nutrional needs met from eating so little!

Don't worry about it! I"m sure you're doing great! When so you meet with Corrine for the first time one-on-one?
