My AWESOME WOW Moment!!

I had my 6 wk check up today and the surgeon said I was healed and could start exercising.  The nutrionist said I was doing above average on weight loss which is now 46 pounds in 6 wks... YEAH ME!!!  I have a wider menu now and can eat about anything I want within reason lol...  I also have not lost any muscle which she was proud of.  Although all this was great news my WOW moment didn't come till later when me and Craig was in a Good will store and I was trying to find something to wear over a dress. Craig spotted a dress jacket that I saw earlier and he said what about this.  I said that will NEVER fit me, did you look at the size? He said "Humor me" so I did and tried it on....it was a freakin size 14/16 and it FIT !!!!!!!!! I started out wearing a 4x (26womens), yeah I have lost 46 pounds but never in my wildest dreams did I think that would result in a 14/16 jacket! I haven't worn that size since I was in 6th grade. Oh my gosh that made my day!!!! I know I won't fit into all clothes that size but it makes me feel a little better about trying on size 18's!  And I had a salad today...boy was that good!  Well that was my day... hope yours was as good.

That is awesome!  I love reading posts like this.  It keeps us just starting the process motivated.  Congrats on such a great success.  So what do you eat for protein during the liquid phase?  Anything you liked vs. others.  I like to hear a variety. Keep it up!  Did you buy the jacket??

I didnt have a liquid phase.  I had soft proteins so I cant help you there. Different surgeon...different diet I guess.  Good luck.

WOW!  That is such a great moment for you!  Congratulations!!!!  I agree with the other reply that it is so great to read a post like yours and for me who is going to be having gastric hopefully in December.  You are an inspiration to us all who cannot wait for our own WOW moments. How did you like the staff at EMMC after your surgery?

I liked the ones I can remember lol... After the surgery I was out of it even on the way home but the ones I remember were real sweet and caring. Is that where you are getting it done?
