So after los of phone calls and me using some nice terms that sounded all official----I get to go to Dr. Loggins and have the surgery afterall. Basically they said they came to a middle ground.  I have to get the more expensive health insurance plan where I can pick any harvard pilfrim doc.  They have a strict policy that yo cannot use CMMC as a facility.  So they will make a special referral exception for me. It still makes no sense.  You go through the whole process and then what--can't have the surgery because you can't use CMMC....weird. The plan doesn't go in effect until Jan 1.  I can get all my labs, chest xray, sleep study etc done at St. Mary's.  So the only other thing I would have is the psych eval and nutrition class.  Plus nutrition follow ups.  So since I didn't want to wait until January I am just doing the nutrition class myself out of pocket.  I called builling and it is opnly $125 for the class and it includes up to 6 follow-ups (every 4-6 weeks).  We worth it for me to be doing that before January instead of waiting. So I am hoping by January I have everything done and am ready to go---well, whenever they are ready for surgery etc.  So I am on the wagon trying to lose the pre-surgery weight. I am sure none of you are going to the Nov 5th nutrition clas huh...since you all have already done it.

Thanks!  So does it get easier??  The twins?  I figure when they start entertaining themselves more and crawling around it will help.  We jsut started getting some sleep around here.

Congrats! That's great! You won't regret using Dr. Loggins ... he is ABSOLUTELY an angel on earth! He's just amazing! Actually, his whole staff is that way. I was telling Crystal, the clinical coordinator, that even though they have a ton of patients that they've always made me feel like the only one they had. For example, I cut my hair (just a few inches) and Melissa, Pam AND Corinne noticed. To me, that was huge. They clearly care so very much! Smart to get the process going with Corinne now rather than waiting. That was BY FAR the longest part of the process for me. It's SO important that you have the whole nutritional process figured out pre-op, and lost that 10 percent, so it can take a while before Corinne signs you off for surgery. She'll tell you in class (which I found fascinating, BTW) that she'll clear people as soon as after 2 one-on-one appts but that she's meet with people for up to a year. (My roommate at the hospital met with her that long). That would be great if you can get everything done with her before January first, so that the gang can get your folder ready to submit to insurance shortly after the first of the year. You could be having surgery in January or February! That is SOOO exciting! THe twins are DARLING! I love them! I don't know how you've been doing it though! My son will be one in 16 days! I don't know if I could have done it with two of him! LOL As far as the crawling goes .... don't think it's going to get easier! It'll be SO much worse, because they can get into ANYTHING and EVERYTHING!!!! LOL

Thanks---I am really excited.  I wonder why I took the others a year of appointments with her??  Gosh I hope that isn't me!!!!!!!  Is it just because they weren't losing weight?  Or just didn't get the nutritional stuff I wonder?? I swear the only reason I can handle two is because I don't know what it is like to have just one!  Since they are our first (and last) this is all I know.  So it is hard, but normal.  Had I had one, then twins---I am sure I would be complaining about how hard it was. It is funny though---my best friend had a baby 2 months after ours---she complained non stop about always feeling like she was feeding, burping or changing a diaper....I was like...yeah me too---times two! I am so glad I found this board, everyone is so supportive!

Well, they're absolutely beautiful, so I'm sure they're worth all the work! :)  Jake is our first, and last too - so I'll have no basis of comparison! I really am so thrilled that things worked out with Dr. Loggins for you! He really is the best and has an amazing bedside manner too! I think the thing with Corinne, is that she's tough but in a good way! She really honestly cares that you're really prepared for life post-op. You can really tell that she honestly cares and doesn't want you to have any problems afterwards and she takes her job seriously enough to not sign off on you until she knows that you're really ready! I just did EVERYTHING she told me to do. Nothing more and nothing less! i kept a good food journal and really made the changes that I needed to be sucessfull and felt really prepared when my big day came! I think if you do what Corinne tells you to do, the weight will come off and you'll be ready. It took me 10 weeks to lost the 19 pounds that I did before surgery. It wasn't my full 27 pounds that would have been my 10 percent, but it was close enough! Hope it goes as smoothly for you! :)
