degenerted disc in my neck

Well I found out why my shoulders and neck have been hurting. My MD ordered an Xray and it showed "serious" degerated disc in my neck !! I go Friday for an MRI. Good thing I have lost as I never could do a MRI before I was too big. It is depressing as what is next and I cannot stand this new pain even though I am use to pain, with my fibro and severe arthrtis in my spine esle where. Oh well thats life.....

So sorry to hear that you're in such agony. I've got arthritis in my neck and lower spine but I know that a degenerating disc can be even more painful! You will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us posted! Anne

Sorry to hear about the degenerative disc.  I have that in my back along with the fibromylagia and compression fractures so I know how much pain you are having.  I find that soaking in a tub of hot ho****er helps and heating pads.  Good luck and will be thinking of you! 

Oh I am sorry, I know how painful that can be.  My friend has degenerative disc disease in his spine.  Unfortunately, he is addicted to Oxy.  So be careful with that or any narcotics for pain.  I am sure swimming or maybe a jacuzzi might be good for you.  If you don't have access to it, try moist heating pad as well.   You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

I'm sorry to hear about the pain you've been having.   The same thing seems to run in my husband's family.  Not sure if it's hereditary or not, but it seems to be in his family....all 4 siblings have disc issues.  Is there anyone else in your family who suffers from the same thing?   I hope your able to find some relief from the pain.  I'll keep you in my prayers. Keep us posted on your MRI results.
