2 Week Check Up Results
Well I made it to the 2 wk check up and found out from the dietician I am doing good. She said she expected the weight loss to be at 6 wks but it does come off quick like it did with me sometimes. She said to keep up the good work and increased my foods (YEAH!!! --LOL) I can now have like a TBLS of potatoes and veggies and soft fruits.. boy does that make a big difference! On her scale I weighed 232...24 lbs gone! I couldn't believe it. She gave me the go ahead to take regular vitamins and regular calcium but I can't swallow the dang pills anymore so I am still on the chewable and the viactiv. She also told me that I have probably been feeling so icky because of the amount of weight I have lost but most find the 3rd week the worst but I might not have that problem because of the weight I have lost.
At Dr. Clough's he took the staples out, said I was healing good and I weighed 230 on his scale. He said I could start housework which made me so happy since I have been so bored! He said he didn't really know why I was still having sweats but me and Craig got thinking... before the surgery I was taking estrogen and now I am not so I am probably just having some hot flashes.
After that me and Craig went to go get his braces for his legs and while there I noticed my shirt in the front by the incision was all wet... a closer look showed me that my incision was leaking so we rushed back the the Dr.s and the nurse took me right in and said the Dr. called it something like "fatmosis"... a break down of fat that turns to liquid and builds under the skin. She said it happens from time to time and to just let it get out. After that day it hasn't leaked which is good.
Well thats all for now.
Still can't sleep thru the night but I think my belly gets sore from being in one position for so long and it wakes me up and I have to move.
I still haven't reached the point where I am glad I had it done, but I am feeling better every day.
Thanks for listening... and take care everyone!
Hi Netti,
I'm so glad to hear that you got a good report from both the Nut. & Doc! And Congratulations on your weight loss success!!
Wow, I can't believe that your ready for veggies, potatoes & such already! In our program, potatoes, starches, etc. are off limits for a year or until you reach your half-way point to your weight loss goal. Carbs slow down the weight loss. Anyway, you'll have to let me know how you do with your new variety of foods.
Your probably right about the sweating issue. It could definitely be related to hot flashes and estrogen levels. At least now you know what's most likely causing it and don't have to worry about it being an infection.
You should be sleeping better soon. Now that the staples are out, you'll be able to get a little more comfortable.
Keep the faith Netti! You'll be happy you had the surgery and ready to celebrate soon!
Blessings, Yvonne
Thanks! I know I am loving the veggies, potatoes and soft fruit (lol)... We are probably only allowed like a TBLS because of the carbs.
I haven't had any problem with the new foods yet, but I am taking it nice and slow.
I also don't get a full feeling when I have eatten enough, I usually feel like I am going to get sick instead... Weird I think but hey whatever works I guess lol...
I have noticed I can sleep more on my side/belly which is more comfortable and I am sure in no time at all I will be sleeping better.
Thanks for your support!
