Vitamins ....

Hi , can any one please tell me if you started vitamins pre op? and can it just be any vitamin or do you have to have special ones and do they have to be the ones they sell online for post op ?Thank you !

I just took a regular multi-vitamin before surgery but now I take a chewable one I bought from BariatricAdvantage.com. The next time you see Corrine ask her for some samples, she gave some out at one of the support groups for people to try. I bought the berry and they taste kinda like a sweet-tart. They are specially made for bariatric people and have mega doses of the vitamins that we don't process as well. You take 2 a day and the bottle costs $16.95 for 60 or $36.95 for 180. I didn't think it was that bad of a price. I also bought Biotin from them that was $12.95 for 90. They are 5mg capsules and you take 1 a day, I've heard it slows down hair loss.  Hope this helps, Cheryl

I take a daily multi vitamin as well as a b complex. My nail are growing like crazy and I have to say I have more energy too. They are big and hard to swallow so I cut them in half. I don't know what I'll be taking post op. I'm sure I'll find out at one of the appointments.
