I know this surgery isn't a piece of cake or an easy fix but was wondering if anyone else has had (rib) pain. I have had it for 2 days now and the Dr.'s nurse said that sometimes you get that from the surgery. Also I have tried real hard to get in my protein today and here it is 4 pm and I have only got 26 g in. I still have a C.I.B. to go with some protein so that will up it to around 46 g. . Can anyone also tell me how long these sweats last! They are driving me bonkers.  How long was it before you guys felt semi normal again? Has some energy, no sweats, can eat pretty good? I got 2 weeks down and seeing the Dr. tomorrow for check up. Will let you all know how it goes.

Netti, When you say sweasts are you talking like weakness sweats ???? If not you should ask the nurse that could be infection some where, I do not remember having any sweats. That is good protein for the  start of your journey.

It was about 8 weeks when I starting feeling good.

Please mention to Dr. Clough about the sweats.

Good Luck,

Pam

Gee, Netti. I'm glad you're going to the docs tomorrow. I'm not having any sweats and there's nothing in my doctor's materials about it (I flipped through the complications section to look). My first thought was could you be dumping by any chance????

I didn't have rib pain. Just a real bad muscle pain (or pulling) from the large incision that was under my left breast.  Could it be that that your feeling, thinking it is your ribs?  It hurt everytime I got on my bed or sat down on the toilet.  Also as far as the sweats, are you taking the pain killers? maybe it is from that?  I felt cold all the time right after surgery, but no sweats.

Hi Netti,    I had the rib pain and the sweating as well.  The rib pain sorta felt like someone had punched me and beat me up while I was in surgery.  I was told that some people experience it and others don't.   Some of it is muscular pain from the surgery and some of it may be due to the gas they blow your stomach up with.  I experienced some sweating for about the first month.  Between all I had going on, I just figured it was a combination of the surgery, meds etc.  But it could also be your sugar level, so you may want to ask to have it checked.   Both things should go away soon, but I'll pray for your comfort.      Your doing great with your protein intake!  Your only 2 weeks out!  I'm still not at your level yet (although getting better) and today makes 2 months!   Keep at it!  Your doing great! Blessings, Yvonne
