Back home!
I had surgery Monday and am finally home as of last night. Dr. Loggins at CMMC took awesome care of me and my surgery went off without a hitch! I'm in a LOT of pain, but I hope that'll go away soon. I'm going to go back to lying in bed now but I wanted you guys to know that I made it through and am back home! :)
Welcome home!!!! I had pain when I got in and out of bed because of the pulling. I found it easier to recline in a chair for the first couple of days. They told me the more you move around the better things will feel and I believe it. The day after I was released from the hospital I walked from the Arbor house to Dr. Loggins office and back. I went slow but it felt better to just move around.
I'm glad everything turned out ok, update when you can.

Welcome back and glad to hear everything went so well. Yes bed definately isnt a friend right after surgery. I think I even got mad at bedtime cause I knew I wouldnt be able to get comfortable. I still am not where I would like to be comfort wise but it is getting better.
Would be interested in hearing what you eat during the day though.
Good luck and take things easy!!!!
I'm happy to hear your home Summer! What are you taking for pain? The pain med the Dr. gave you should be keeping you from being in ALOT of pain. If your in too much pain, your body isn't able to relax and heal as quickly. Be sure to let your Dr. know if you think the pain is more than it should be.
I'll be praying for you and for a quick recovery. Keep us posted.
Blessings, Yvonne
Thanks, Yvonne. I'm on a liquid vicodin ... the pain is MUCH better now. I actually only took one dose yesterday and the pain wasn't even that bad, I just couldn't sleep. That was the only dose I had taken in the previous 24 hours. Now the pain is more "twingey" and annoying really. I can't wait to get these staples out on Friday.
My parents have been great and have been taking my 10 month old ( who is 26 pounds and I can't pick up) for most of the day to give my husband a break. I've forced myself to use that time to atleas****ch TV in bed, so that I'm at least resting even if I'm not sleeping!
Thanks for the prayers!
Love, Summer
I'm glad to hear that your pain has lessened. I had trouble sleeping for the first couple weeks. It's hard to get comfortable at first. I'm sure once you have your staples out, it'll be a bit easier. Just remember that even if the incisions looked healed on the outside, it still takes a month for them to completely heal on the inside. Slow & easy!
Are you doing any walking?
Blessings, Yvonne
