Hey there everyone?? How are you doing?? I am well.. Except for a concern that I have... My one month Anniversary was on Sept 13th and food wise I am doing great.. I am sticking to the menu and only eating allowed foods at this point and things seem to be going good.. I haven't 'dumped' at all and I have only gotten sick once (but that was my own fault for not chewing the food as small as I needed to).. Anyways.. So, I went to Florida a week ago, and I didn't weigh my self at all while I was there. I weighed in the Friday before we left, and then again the Monday morning we got back (which had been about 10 days).. And I was sooooo upset because I had only lost 4 lbs! WHAT THE HECK?? I don't understand.. I did was really active while I was there and didn't eat anything that I shouldn't have.. And then tomorrow is a week from last monday.. And I weighed myself this morning and I only lost one lb?? I don't get it.. Why aren't I losing weight anymore.. Can someone PLEASE help me???? I don't know what to do, but I am getting upset! Thanks!! Tarka

My last 9 lbs!! They are the hardest to lose it seems!!!!!

Hi Tarka,     Your situation sounds familiar.  My original RNY was 8/3 and the second surgery was 8/16, so we're about the same time-frame out.   It had been a little over 2 weeks since I lost any weight and I was getting concerned too.   In the past 2 days I've lost 1 and 1/2#, which is better than nothing. To top things off, I haven't been able to keep much down since surgery, so you'd think the weight would be falling off, but it isn't.   I asked my Dr. about it and he said that it's normal to plateau now & then while your body readjusts to the weight loss you've already had.   I definitely know how frustrating it can be.   For me, I have other issues to deal with, but I'm sure your situation is just that your body is readjusting to it's new weight.  Keep working at it.      Another possibility is that you may need to increase your exercise.  Sometimes that will help start things back up.   Keep the faith!    Blessings, Yvonne

I am 4 weeks and one day out and I went through a period of 9 days without loosing any weight. Now it's starting to fall off again. I talked to my nutritionist about it and she gave me a rule of thumb to follow during this period. What you loose in the first two weeks out of sugery will generally take you another 4 weeks to loose that same amount. So, I lost 18lbs in my first two weeks, it will take me another 4 weeks to loose another 18lbs. There will be stalls but as long as you stay committed, the weight will start coming off again, you just have to be patient. Hope that helps!
