Disappointed!!

I spoke with my insurance company this morning and they say that WLS is not covered by our policy and since it is not covered "accross the board" an appeal may not even help.  I am so disappointed and discouraged. I have been preparing myself  mentally and physically for this journey.  I was hoping to have the Lap-Band in Portland. I am feeling frustrated at this point. !!  Anyone have any tips/suggestions?   Thanks!! Rae

Thank you Yvone, that is very sweet of you. :) I am not giving up. I just needed to vent my frustration a little.  Hopefully I can work something out with the insurance Company. Rae

I also say appeal anyway. The worst they can do is say no again.

At the same time I would start looking into other options. CareCredit, self-pay and even out of country can all be cost effective when the insurance says no. I waited and my insurance policy changed.

Don't give up though. They might say no. Probably even will say no, but this is not about "them" this is about you. You want to be healthy. Where there's a will, there's a way...even if it's not as soon as you hope.

My journey started in 2004...my surgery was just 5 weeks ago. I don't look at as time wasted anymore...just time to prepare even more than I would have been.
