So I was able to start adding food back into my diet and things were going great.. I have had no "dumping" or throwing up... Which is good.. Then last night I started to get these awful cramps in my pouch.... It's like they would tighen and hurt for about a min and then they would release and I would feel ok.. I paged my Dr. and they had me just do water for last night.. I woke up this morning, not feeling well, and now anytime I drink anything I get cramps... I just got back from seeing my Dr. and he isn't worried.. They did labs just to make sure, but he thinks it's just my body reacting to the "new system"..... Hmmm.. I am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else??  And any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

IMO I think they start you on food way too soon. I had to be on liquid for the first month. It allows your pouch to heal.   Hope you are feeling better soon!

I guess I should have been more detailed... When I say that the allow me to add food back into my diet, I should have said pureed food.. Everything has to be pureed... But hmmm.. maybe your right... I'll know more tomorrow when my labs come back.. Thanks for the tips!

the "tightening and releasing" is exactly what I experienced!!!  I found that it happened when I went too fast with something.   I really have trained myself to slow down.  I hope that is the problem with you and nothing serious!  I am almost 8 weeks out and have just started to get the hang of most things. Give yourself time, you will get it Feel better soon Maryellen

I still get cramps off and on and I am almost a year out. Sometimes I think it is if we eat to fast .Or if I have been nervous and eat.

Plua here there is a virus going around headaches, stomache aches, diahrea and its wicked awful.

Good Luck it is all a learning experience

Yeah the virus is really bad, I had it for awhile and was so afraid something was wrong with my new "plumbing." I had awful abdominal cramps and when I could eat something my pouch was very unhappy. I still have the headaches, every day, but the rest is gone. So make sure you stay away from anyone who might be sick.

Could the food or liquid your having when the cramps occur be warmer or colder than room temp?   Extreme temps can cause cramping for the first 3 months.  And definitely eating or drinking too fast will do it.   I hope it's just something that simple. I'll keep you in my prayers.  Keep us posted. Blessings, Yvonne
