Good luck on your upcoming surgery and good luck to Darcy too! You ladies will be fine! I was terrified the morning of, my surgery was at 7:30 am so I had to be there at 5:30. But it was all okay in the end...I can fill you in on details of getting prepared for surgery if you want. I am doing fantastic, thank you for asking. I have lost approx. 21 lbs so far (depending on when in the day I weigh myself). My surgery went fine and actually didn't take as long as Dr. Toder thought it would. It's a little rough the first day, because they give you different pain meds to try out. I ended up going with the Roxicet, a liquid. The only thing I would advise you ladies on with that is don't swallow it in one gulp as the nurses might advise. When I did that I would get so sick and my pouch would be very uncomfortable.  Also, contrary to what our binder says you will be allowed *some* water the first day. They give you a cup of ice, sometimes ice water, depending on who gets it for you, with a green sponge type thing in it so you can swab your mouth. Those green sponges became my favorite thing ever. My surgery was on a wed. morning and I went home fri. morning. Sorry this is all so broken up, I am trying to remember as much as I can to pass on. OH, I would suggest you bring pajama pants. You will want to put them on under you gown. The gown they gave me was huge on me and I was so glad I had my pajama pants when I was doing my loops. Second, I would suggest ear plugs and or a sleep mask. I brought a sleep mask and my friends brought me earplugs and it helped me sleep so much, especially when I got a roommate the second night. I am going to try and check OH more often, I have just been so busy, so please message me either on this board or private message if you have any questions about it.

Well good luck with your surgery! And thank you so much for thinking about me! Everything on Monday went great and I'm home feeling absolutely wonderful, I feel like running laps! So far so good, and I hope it stays that way!

I went in Monday morning and was out Wednesday morning. My only complaint of my entire hospital stay was my roommates. Oh my gosh they had me with some terrily sickly older ladies. The first was so sick that she couldn't breath right and it was SO loud and she constantly burped and whinned and her coughing up of flemmed 24/7 was making me so nausious. I begged them to move me (I was only 2 hours out of sugery at this point) and thankfully the did. They moved me to a new room where I had a lovely roomate (a nice little old lady) who I really enjoyed. She was pleasant, friendly, and my husband enjoyed have conversations with her over sports odd enough. But she went home on my day 2 and then my new roommate came. She wasn't as bad as the first but she was bad enough to make me cry. She was a very sickly imobile older lady again, who was extremely hard of hearing. She gagged and gagged and burped and farted all night long, yes I'm serious. She had to constantly pee in the bed pan and have breathing treatments all night long too. I got no sleep and was thuroughly disgusted most of the time and had to get up every three hours when she had treatment to walk just to get away from it all. The worst part is when she turned on the tv, it was SOOOO load from her hearing problem that I couldnt even bare it in my own bed. And to top it off, her daughter was a nightmare, screaming at the nurses and giving them orders. Arghhhh, I'll be so glad if the hospital switches to private rooms in my lifetime!

Other than all that, everything with me medically is fantastic! Ha Ha... I was determined to walk as much as I could so I could hightail it outa there! LoL
