Gas and Rumbling of the insides???
Hey there everyone.. I am 5 days post op and I am doing great! I haven't found anything that I am not able to eat (KNOCK ON WOOD!)... However... Whenever I eat something I get big time rubling around in my stomach and like gas pains... They only thing that I can compare it to is when you get that "bad gas feeling right before you have diaherrea.. I am not trying to be gross but that is the one thing that it reminds me of. It's not uncomfortable enough to where I need to stop eating those foods.. It's just weird.. I guess I am just wondering if any one else has had it?? I think that it may just be because my body isn't used to the new "system". Hmmm any advise would be wonderful!
Thanks!
Hi Tarka : )
Talk to your surgeon.. but know that this is normal : )
Im three years out.. and it still happens to me. Normally.. for *me*... its the foods and the combinations of what I eat together... beans still are the wonderful fruit in other words lolol.
Often you might find certain foods are more..ummmm well some foods if you are going to be in close quarters with others in social settings you should stay away from.
Sugar free ice cream is a killer for me... I DONT eat it except at home and even then ... make sure its a night where the family is not HOME with you (again your gas producing foods will maybe be different )
You will have a whole new set of rumbiling and tumbling in the tummy... for a time it might be almost like your belly is having a conversation with you. Just be calm, and get used to the new **plumbing**.. it DOES get better.
I dont know you so... HIYA.. Im Timmy Ray : ) You might check out my post (the BIG four) about protein, water, vitamins and exercise.... but as always follow your surgeons and health professionals advice?
Welcome to the Losing side : )
Be encouraged... you will have ebbs and flows...where you lose a lot in a short time then plateau for a few days sometimes weeks.. then plateau again...OR you might not plateau but be a slow steady loser... every person is an INDIVIDUAL in this thing.
If you have any questions... be sure and post em?
I learned all I know... almost ... from the different boards (New Jersey... and other OH message boards) .. and Im new to the Maine Board.
Congratulations on the Surgery.... let me know if I can help you in any way : )
Also... slap me (this goes for anyone reading this) if I talk too much., as I tend to ramble : ))
Have a great weekend.
-Timmy Ray
PS Dont be nervous... you sound like your doing just FINE. There is a lot of exciting things happening it is all good from here for most people : )
