How long did you wait?

Hi Everyone. I was just wondering how long you all waited before calling the surgeon's office to ask about your first appointment?  I complete the online questionaire for Dr. Cobean's office Friday, 7/27/07.  So far I haven't heard anything...but it has only been a few days.  I'm just anxious to get things going.  I figure if I haven't heard by this Friday afternoon, I will call.  Is that being too pushy? Hi Julz,  I can't remember how long it took for me.  Oh just be pushy and call them. They are nice there. They will tell you when to expect the letter of your first appointment. 

Hi Julie. If I can remember everything correctly...my PCP put in the referral in early August 06.  About two months later I did the on line survey thing.  My first appt was Feb 5, 07.  It does take quite a while.  Plus with Dr Wolff being out for awhile, I'm sure it slowed them down some.  You won't be pushy if you call.  They can let you know about how much longer you may need to wait.  Hang in there...it seems like forever, but it will happen.

Hi. I did get my letter...said that my FIRST appointment with the surgeon/team will be in about 6-8 months.  At first I was really taken back by that.  But after going to the support group last night and listening to everyone then talking to Barbara, I am feeling a bit better about that.  I have to do a sleep study, so that's what I am working on now.  Left a message at my PCP's office asking for a referral to the sleep center in Portland.  Hopefully they'll call back by Friday.  If not, I'll call THEM.   Anyhow, thanks for the encouragement.

hi Julz, It was real nice to meet you last night!  Don't worry, it will happen.  By then you will definitely be emotionally and physically prepared. I wasn't in 2003, even though I thought I was.  Everything happens for a reason.  Take care and keep in touch!

Hi Kathi! I enjoyed meeting you as well.  The meeting was a lot of fun.  Informative too.  Definitely won't be my last.  I don't know if I'll make it to a Tuesday meeting right away though, due to my boyfriend's work schedual.  He almost always has to work Tuesday nights.  So it looks like I'll be attending the Wed. night meeting.  (I'll attend the Tues. one as often as possible though.) Well, my girls are begging me to do watercolor painting with them, so I better get going.  I'll talk to you SOON.  Hope you're having a good week! ~Julie~
