Thank you Maryellen. I am glad you are feeling so good after surgery. 2 1/2 weeks out is such a short time. I can't wait to say I'm 2 /2 weeks out too!!! I hope I feel as good as you seem to...that is my biggest fear...I am such a baby about pain!

Julie- LONG is a good word for it...I started 4 years ago. Waited 9 months for my call from Dr.Cobean's office, went through all the appointments, then *poof* I was pregnant (IUD malfunction.)
So..Fast forward to a 2yo, finally off the nursing stage, and I started it all over again!

I am so glad it worked out though, I did not have the RNY that scared me, and the lap-band is now common practice and I KNOW it is the right choice for me...I was not that sure of the RNY (which I still think has it's place...it just scared the crap out of me!)

I am so excited that it is finally time!!!!
Your turn is coming too!

Hi Summer! How is your journey going? Did you get your 1st appt yet? (edit: I see you did your 1st appt!!! YEAH!!! When is your next step? You are moving quickly too!)

I will be at school 5 days after surgery...I signed up for 3 days of computer training and it starts the monday following my wednesday surgery...hope I am up to it!!

Stop in for the scar viewing. I go into this proud that I have the nerve and commitment to take this step, no shyness about it.

Sheli, You must be soo excited!!  Goodness you got in fast!   I'll be right behind you on Friday having my GBP!    Did you have to do the pre-op liquid diet for the lapband surgery?   I'm on week 2 of the shakes, jello & water...  Can't wait to have some actual food again.....even if it's pureed!  LOL    The Countdown has begun!!!!  Are you packed yet?  LOL Blessings, Yvonne

Oh Yvonne, I have been thinking of you since friday. I think I saw you at the hospital, did you have your pre-op appt. friday morning too? I was there at 10 and i swear you left just before Ida called me in for my ekg. You were gone around the corner before I realized it was you.

I did get in fast, because it was probably going to be the end of August and I started balling when Lori called to give my final consult dates. I have to go back to work on Aug. 29th and I can't miss the first 2 weeks of school. She was such a doll, her and Pat fiddled with Dr. Trieu's schedule and came up 3 weeks earlier for my consults. and then they called on tuesday (just 5 days ago) and told me my date was the 1st. Pat asked if that worked for my job...she is such a doll!!!

I am excited. And not quite packed but collecting the stuff to pack in one place. I have to find my overnight bag, I haven't seen it since we moved in May.

Dr. Trieu does not have a pre-op liquid diet for the band, or I would be crying by now. How are you coping?

How long will you be in the hospital? I think I go home the same day, but I know the RNY is longer.

Do you know that I really appreciate your answering all my questions last month? You were truly a big help to me. I will be thinking of you friday, let us know how you're doing. Wishing you all the best!

We must have just missed eachother Sheli.  I had my pre-admission & EKG on Friday.  So you & "the girls" got to see Ida too, eh?  LOL   Wow, I didn't know that LapBand patients go home the same day. That's pretty fast!   I will be in for my GBP for 3 days not counting Friday.  I had thought I would be home on Sunday, but after reading my notes, they don't count the day of surgery, so it'll be Monday as long as all is well.   You must be packed and ready to go in a matter of hours by now.  I'll be keeping you in my prayers.  Please let us know how you are as soon as your up to it.  See you on the Road to Recovery!   Blessings, Yvonne
