Vegetable Capsules

Does anyone have experience with supplements that come encased in Vegetable Capsules?  I've read that they dissolve quickly with body heat & moisture and that stomach acid isn't necessary.   I've been "practicing" for post-op and tried crushing my supplements but they burned my throat, as well as tasting terrible!  Since I'm already taste sensitive, I'd rather find a way to take my supplements whole.  I'm waiting for a response from the Nutritionist, but the Surgeon felt that they would be fine.   Input anyone?   TIA Blessings, Yvonne

Thanks for the info Bonnie.  I visited the Vitalady site awhile back.  I haven't tried the unjury protein, but have tried my share of other brands.  I've decided to stick with Body Fortress from Walmart.  I like the taste better than the others I've tried.   At the moment I'm working on finding a good tasting Soy Protein.  My Personal Trainer says that Soy Protein helps with skin elasticity, which I know I'll desperately need!  LOL  So far the Soy Protein Powders I've tried haven't mixed well and were gritty tasting.  My Nutritionist suggested Spiru-tein, so I bought some today and will give it a try.   All this experimenting can get pretty costly!   Blessings, Yvonne

I had oped rny Sept 26 2006. Dr Clough in Bangor was my doc. I was on some meds and I was surprised that they told me to swallow them before I left the hospital to come home 3 days after surgery. I had heard all the "crushing" stories and expceted that ,I did not have to crush. Pam

Dear Yvonne, I have a new small size AP lapband installed in Houston Tx this past May24th. I live in Presque Isle Maine. I do chewables in most cases, chewable multivitamin, chewable calcium, chewable vit c, liquid b12 complex you put by drops under tongue, but there are some i cant get chewable like iron and collegen. I make a morning protein shake every three days or so, and put them in the blender with it. usually its just yogurt, protien  powder, fruit and supplements (and metamucil) and blend it till its liquid.
