My final 3 hoops!
Yvonne, They just called this morning and I had been following your posts and knew that you had your final appt on July 17th, so I knew mine would be later than that, but when she initially told me August 19th for my consult I burst into tears. I didn't think it would be THAT long. I really need to have surgery before school starts back up or I will have to wait for the next vacation week...that would be October. She looked at the schedule and called me back with the above dates. She was so nice about it. I am sure they think I am nuts now.
Keep us posted on your progress, since I am right behind you I will be waiting to hear how it's going.
Thanks! Sheli

The office gals are wonderful. Poor Lynn, she was filling in for Pat last week and was scheduing my pre-op tests and ended up having to call the hospital and me back about 4 times! LOL I'm glad they were able to get you in quicker and you won't have to wait until October. Looks like we can compare notes! Blessings, Yvonne
Ok Yvonne, you said they were scheduling your pre-op tests? When do they start scheduling those? After I see Nate? Or after I see Dr Trieu? Or do they know to schedule them and they will be calling me in a day or two? Or did you call and ask?
I am so anxious to get this band moving. The wait is the hardest part!
Did they give you any indication of when your surgery would be scheduled?
Thanks for my putting up with me!

Don't feel bad Sheli. It's all I can do to keep my feet planted firmly on the ground! LOL I'm anxious to get moving along as well.
Here's the scoop, as it was for me......My appts. are 7/10 and 7/17 with Dr. Trieu being on the 17th. My pre-op tests are on the 23rd. Lori had Lynn call me last week to schedule my pre-op tests ahead of time because they take awhile to get in. Since you have your other appt. dates and they are pretty close to my dates, I think maybe you should call and ask about it. I think Pat usually does the scheduling but was on vacation last week, which is why Lynn did it for me. Or you can email Lori and ask her about it. She's great and is the one who has the tests scheduled. If you need her email address, just let me know.
My pre-op tests on the 23rd consist of an Esophogram, Abdominal Ultrasound and a Chest X-Ray. Lori told me that Dr. Trieu will give me an order for bloodwork, an EKG and possibly other pre-op stuff at my appt. with him.
The ballpark estimate they gave me for my surgery is the first week of August.....but it's not set in stone yet. The sooner the better!! But you can count on about 3 weeks from your appt. with Dr. Trieu. (1 week to coordinate & schedule your surgery and 2 weeks for the Pre-op diet).
To keep myself from going crazy, I've been focusing on doing things I know I'll need in place after the surgery. If you start acting like your surgery is only days away, you'll realize that it really is! Do an inventory of your clothes and what sizes you have.....Make up charts that will help you keep track of your progress...Clean out your cupboards....Put together the tools you'll need to get through the first month (1- 2 oz. measuring cup, blender, protein powder/drinks, etc) .....Determine the walking routes you plan to take for exercise.....Take a good "Before" picture....Organize your WLS info....ETC.... Plus now's a good time to start putting yourself into the right frame of mind to succeed!!
Keep me posted! We'll keep eachother busy while we pass the time away!
Blessings, Yvonne
