I got home around 2pm today. My surgery went very well. I am very sore and tired. But it could be much worse!   2 major instructions were to Drink and Move!  SO here I go!  Going to take a short walk and then lay down as I feel the pain meds kicking in.  I really am not liking how the oxy makes me feel.

Hi Kathi,    I'm so glad to hear that your home.  Now's a good time to start thinking about your new routine and how to implement it.  Your on your way to a fabulous New You!!!        Try to limit your oxy as much as you can tolerate.....the side effects can include bowel obstructions and you don't want to go down that road.  Take Care and Keep In Touch! Blessings, Yvonne

Thanks so much for taking the time to tell us YOur home wooo.. keep us posted! I have had 3 back surgeries and pain meds are  a huge part of my current life, finding one that doesnt make you ill or sweat etc. Oxy is vicodin without the tylenol basically.. I have a pain doctor, a. Try take half if its not feeling right... or can call surgeon for other options.. Its your body and everyone is different.. Have a comfy day.. Let us know if we can help in any way.. I saw my surgeon yesterday and he addressed my blood mutation my main reason for lap band and not Gastric By Pass, and I am now reassured and going with the Gastric By Pass and not the Lap Band. Changed my Mind.. for many reasons , Mainly was the PE (lung blood clot).  I may see some of you  Thursday at Maine Bariatric. say hi if I do...  Blessings to all enjoy our HOT Maine today...  Allicca~

Congratulations on the surgery going well.  You weren't in the hospital but just over 24 hours.  You must have had lap procedure.  Take it easy, and don't let the pain get ahead of you.  Take the pain meds as prescribed and don't overdo it. Keep us updated Maryellen ps.  in order to "move" you can't be in pain,  take the pain meds

I too could not take oxy so Dr. Wolff gave me Darvocette (sp?) instead.  Call them to say how it makes you feel Linda

WELCOME HOME KATHI!!!! So glad to hear everything went well.  Hopefully the pain won't stick around too long.  If you  are really unhappy and uncomfortable with your pain meds, I would go ahead and call you dr.  There are several options and some are better than others. (depends on the individual) Aside from that, just as the doctor ordered...Drink your water and move your butt. Take care and keep in touch. (((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))) Julie PS.  Congrats again!!

Thanks Julz.. I guess the itching has subsided. So I will continue with the oxy. I have never had a problem with it in the past.
