Any experience with Dr. Loggins office at CMMC?

I am awaiting my first appointment with Dr. Loggins and it is driving me crazy!!  I know that he has just recently began operating so his schedule is busy, but I dont want to wait a year for surgery. I work at CMMC in the operating room as a scrub nurse so I know him personally but I also used to work at Maine Med full time in the OR too. I know Renee and Dr. Cobean, too. Actually worked with Dr. Wolf  on Friday night while she was having contractions, that was funny and scary at the same time, lol. The question is if anyone has any experience with the CMMC bariatric center. I have seen all three surgeons techniques and though different, they are all good. I want to have the surgery at CMMC because Im full time there and insurance pays 90% compared to only 70% at Maine Med, but Maine med seems to have their pre-op journey down to a science while CMMC seems very chaotic and not sure what everyone's job is on the pre-op process, but the secretary assures me that its just because they are moving offices.  Just not sure of what to do? Should I just suck it up and wait at CMMC or just start over at Maine Med. My PCP is also part of the Maine Med family so she would prefer me going there so thats another piece in my problem. Just wondering if you guys have any ideas?? I know its a long process but just not sure if I want it to be a REALLY long process

I chose MMC because I heard so many negitive things about the Baruatric Center at CMMC in Lewiston. I live closer to Lewiston, but it was worth the longer drive for me to be able to have Dr. Cobean as my surgeon. I liked him a lot. He was very good. I'm very happy with my results. I didn't care for the room mate I had at MMC after my surgery or some of the ER nurses there when I had complications, but other than that it was a great experience. I have nothing but good things to say about the MMC Bariatric Center, they have all been wonderful to me. Good luck on your journey with which ever Bariatric Center you choose. ~dori~

I'm currently in the process of going through surgery with Dr. Loggins. My first appointment was April 13th and he said if all goes well I would have surgery in about 3 months. I hit some snags with sleep apnea, but as soon as that's done he said I'll be ready.    After the first meeting everything flew by. I had appointments like 2 or 3 times a week for something or another. I have a friend who went to Maine Med and after surgery she had one problem after another and come to find out she had high levels of H-Pylori in her stomach. That is something that Dr. Loggins checks for automatically with the first round of routine blood tests. Mine was also high so I was put on meds to take care of it.    I know he has informational meetings the beginning of every month, he lets you know alot about him and his team at those. I have total trust in him and I think that it wouldn't take that long to get to surgery for you if you choose him. His nutritionist Corrine is wonderful, she gives a 3 hour seminar that is the best I've ever heard and she stays with you all along the way.    As for as it being chaotic I agree that it is just their moving, when they were at 12 High St. they were great I just think they have to get used to their new home.   If you have any questions feel free to email me. [email protected] Cheryl
