Hi,  I am two weeks post op and still having soreness where the port is. It is a burning sensation. Did anyone else have the same feeling? Also at times I feel like I have a lump in my throat mostly when I get up in the morning, any clue what it could mean? thanks for all your help Linda

While this site serves to inform (and I love it!) please, please call your physician with any concerns.  It would be awful to have a well meaning answer from someone here only to find out that there is indeed a serious problem.  Call him/her.  Take care and let us know how you make out!

Remember....when life hands you Lemons, ask for tequila and salt and call me over!

This is very common. i still have it (the port pulling pain) once in a while but this is a topic posted about very often on the lap-band forum. The lump in the throat is not something I have expierenced and from what I understand may be caused by refleux. Again post this on the lapband board and you'll get tons of people to respond with the same expierence!!

Hi Linda, I still get soreness on my port site.  It's not a burning sensation though.  I'd call the nurse and tell her how you are feeling.  Also, I get that lump too.  Not sure if you are experiencing any pain in your chest like I am but that and the lump could be related to post op swelling.  Or tightness.  Also, if the lump is just mostly in the morning it's usually due to tightness that a lot of bandsters experience in the mornings.  Most say that warm liquids help with it.  It does help me a little bit.  I'd give Sharon a call and just run how you are feeling by her for peace of mind.  Good luck to you!
