Vitamin D deficiency

 Has anyone had a vitamin D deficiency when they had the first blood tests? The Dr. said mine was really low and put me on 50,000 IU once a week for 8 weeks, after the 8 weeks I have a follow-up test but that isn't until July 19th.  I was told that I should be able to have my surgery in July if all things are in order, my final nutritional meeting is June 19th but I don't know if I have to wait until after the follow-up test or if they can schedule things before it. Any information would be helpful, I really really hope I don't have to wait until then. Thanks, Cheryl
