Hi. How much did you lose on the pre-op diet?  I'm in a weird boat.  Obviously I'll lose some, but if I lose 20 lb, I won't be morbid and will no longer qualify for the surgery!  I wouldn't lose that much in2 weeks, would I? Jeannie

Once you are weighed in for the first time at the center that's it.  That is the weight they will use for insurance and everything.  Anything you lose after that is a bonus perk and will not be held against you.  Just don't gain any!!!  I am not exactly sure how much I have lost pre op... don't have a scale and have been weighed on different scales so I have no idea.  I'll know when I go in to the hospital tomorrow for my surgery.

Thank you, Heather!!  Good luck with your surgery tomorrow!! I'm freaking out right now.  My pre-op is tomorrow.  I think I've gained about 5 lbs since my last appt.  I don't know what I'll do.  If they delay me, I have to start all over because my insurance is changing.  I tried not to gain.  I swear I did.  Now I don't know what to do.

Try not to panic now!  Is this your Pre-Op at the Hospital?  I tell you every darn scale I get on has been different.  So, I would just ride it out.  See what that scale says and try not to worry about it.  Once you start your Pre-Op diet any weight you might have gained will soon be lost.  I think as long as you do not show a gain by surgery day you should be fine.  I don't know this for certain.  I am not sure if anything happens if you show a gain at the Pre-Op.  But try to be positive and maybe your scale is like mine was before I ditched it for good... fickle.  Mine showed me up and by the time I went to my Pre Op I was back down and minus an extra 3 pounds from the visit when I signed consent.  Hey... maybe you'll luck out and the nurse there will take 4 pounds off for your clothes like she did for me.  Which I ended up having a fit about after I thought about it because what if the scale said more than that extra 4 she took off for my clothes when I went into have surgery.  Anyway.... I squared that away by calling the office last week and told them what my concern was and they just said they'd let Dr. Wolff know what happened and not to worry about it.  Anyway.... best of luck to you!  Keep me posted on your progress!!!!
