Hello.... I have my appt. to sign my consent papers on the may 23rd with dr.cobean and I was wondering if anyone can tell me how long after we sign does the surgery follow, I do know that we do have to do the pre op liquid diet for 2 weeks. If anyone has any idea I would really like to know. Thanks, Michele

Hi there...I had lapband with Dr Cobean on Jan 23, 2007. I signed consent in November and had a date for surgery within a couple of weeks. It all depends on your insurance and how quickly they process your paperwork. Good Luck!

Hello, I signed my consent papers on April 9th. I was told that I would hear back with a date within 2 to 2-1/2 weeks. I never heard anything. I had to call. I followed the instructions on the blue sheet they give you after signing consent that says not to call asking the secretaries about the date until 3 weeks have passed and you still don't have a date. I don't recommend you wait 3 weeks. Had I called sooner the girl who schedules appointments there might have actually had a date for me in the time frame the doctor said she would. I don't want to tell you what to do but if I had it to do over again I would have started calling the week after I signed consent. I got a date WAY passed when I was supposed to. After a letter to the doctor I am now waiting for a new SOONER date. Good luck and be persistent! ")
