almost two wks out and need help
Hello everyone... I had my gastric bypass on march 28th everything went well except for the internal bleed and needing a blood trasfusion. I feel GREAT but I am really scared that I am eating to much when I sit down to eat. How much are you supposed to be able to eat in the beginning? I think I could eat about 1/4 cup easy. I only avg one real meal aday this morning I am going to do an instant breakfast. But I can drink a whole 7oz yougart without a problem is this normal? help someone tina
Everyone is different, you should call and ask your doctor's nurse. I am 6 mos out and at 2 weeks I could not eat or drink that much. I now can eat 1/2 cup to 2/3 cup depending on what it is. I coulod only drink a few swallows at a time at 2 weeks out.
The best thing is to check with your doctor.

Hey Tina! It's Chandra. I've always gone by what my pouch tells me. If your esophogus is feeling uncomfortable, you'll know it. Pain in chest, hiccups, urge to vomit always tip me off. If you are taking in the food and it's healthy and you don't notice a stuffed feeling, your doing well. Believe me, your pouch will let you know if your overdoing it. It's natural to increase food intake. At 18 months out, I can eat between 3/4 to 1 cup food when hungry. The key is drinking liquids. Not only does it keep you satisfied through the day, it keeps away the many health issues that can develop later in the game. Kidney stones are my favorite! I really want to get together soon to chat about your progress and mabye go to support group (when work will allow). I'm so excited for you! Congrats and see you soon! Chandra
