HI...this is my first post! I am looking for info on Doctor Trieu or just Maine Bariatrics in general. So far they seem great! They have a nice office with chairs large enough to be comfortable to most surgical candidates, but the exit from the exam room area to the waiting room is a little crowded. It is a new office so they may work that out. SO FAR: I asked for a referal from my PCP in mid february and have already attended the information session (3/6) and had my first surgeon appointment (3/21). My visit with the nutritionist is mid-April (4/13) and I am waiting for an appointment for the psych-eval. Is it me or is this moving faster than normal? Not complaining but WOW! I am so excited and I am not even approved by insurance or scheduled for surgery! Any advice? Comments? Anything?

I go to the Maine Bariatric center as well. I see Dr McKee there. The process went very quickly for me at first too, but then my insurance required a 6 month requirement to see a nutritionist. It took a full year for my complete process but don't be too discouraged from me. I know people who were banded in five months and the office people are wonderful!! They will help you every step of the way!

Hi Sheli! I am Claudette and I go to Maine Bariatrics as well. I am doing Lap RNY, but I also see Dr. Trieu. I went to my information meeting in NOvember, saw Dr. Trieu on 12/12, saw the nutrtitionist on 2/5. psych eval on 2/6 and got my date last week for May 2nd. It seems to be going quickly for me, too. Once the approval letter came in, it all just flew!!! I saw Jackie (the nutitionist...I love her) again last week and have already had my two appointments with Nate, the trainer. Now I am just in the pre-op testing stage and I see Jackie for the last time pre-op next Monday and then it's just waiting until May 2nd. Best of luck to you, I absolutely love that office and it's people, too.

Hi Anne Marie: My name is Kim and I have Dr. McKee. I think he is great. Dr. Trieu was just coming on board when I had my surgery back in Sept. I have only heard good things about him. Good luck, and maybe I'll see you at a support group meeting.
