Dr. Toder?

Anyone here have surgery with Dr. Toder in Bangor? I'm going through the program for the LapBand surgery and she is the only surgeon in my area who performs it. I'd really like to hear about people's experiences. Thank you for any information. Darcy

Hi Darcy, I too am going to have lap band soon and I will be seeing Dr, Toder soon. All I can say is I have heard good things about her and will have my first meeting with her in a few weeks. I m s so excited have you been through all the hoops yet? I do know a girl who just had laproscopic rny with her and i have been trying to reach her to ask her some questions butI have yet to get her.. Please keep in touch I would like to hear more also. Hi Julie, Thankyou for your response. I have my 2nd dietician appointment tommorrow, my psy appointment a week after that, and then my 3rd dietician appointment on April 9th. Once I'm done all that I can call and set up my first appointment with Dr. Toder right? How long after you finished you're appointments did they get you in to see her? This will be nice to have someone to chat with about the whole process. Apparantly there arn't very many people around who have had the LapBand procedure done with her. I've heard so much about the Gastric Bypass but I really want to know more about the LapBand experience with Dr. Toder. Thanks again for sharing! Darcy

Hi Darcy, This is so cool we can actually share alot well I started In January and every thing has moved along rather quickly I think? I had my last diatcian meeting and my Psch. eval on the sameday last month and it was at the last diatciam meeting that they said I was ready to be reffered for the surgery and then I asked when I would get to see Dr Toder and she said with in the month and she was right I am booked too see her on April 3rd I am so so so Excited So you are on a roll now girl you will have like me all that stuff behind you soon and on your way to The Band. I did get a hold of that girl I know that just had surgery with . Toder and she aid that Dr Toder is awesome and she was very relaxed at the visit with her and it was very casual. I then asked how long after that did they book her for surgery and she sad she couldnt remember exactly but she said not to long after he seen Dr Toder her office called to book her for the surgery. and even asked her if she would like it done in Jan.or Feb and this girl wanted it during February vaction so she chose that. So I thought that was really cool that she kinda had a choice. I am going on a cruise that we have had planned for a very long time and we leave April 28th my dream is that when I get back I can have the surgery like I am really hoping that by the 2nd week of May.................Thats just me talking and hoping we shall see what really happens. But hey lets keep in touch and I will keep you informed if i hear any thing more. I think they are wonderful down there and I have had a good learning experience there. Hi Julie, I so remember meeting you! I was at the first meeting in January too and I remember you saying that you we're going on a cruise and I stopped you to talk because I was going on one too. We just got back from our cruise less than a week ago and it was awesome! Thanks again for sharing what you've been through with me. It's good to know you havn't had any problems thus far. It seems like a lot of people here on this site have had to jump through some major hoops to get to their surgery. I was starting to get a little nervous and called Lynn at the program yesterday and she kind of walked me through everything and why they don't tend to get people denied by their insurance because their program is so thurough. I'm so glad to find another person who's going through it too! Darcy

Hi Darcy; I am also going to have surgery with Dr. Toder. I have had a major set-back causing me a 6 month delay with lap-band surgery. I have been through the whole program and actually had a surgery date, but had to have major surgery; I needed six months to heal from that surgery before facing another. My next surgery date will be the end of May; maybe early June. I have a relative who had Dr. Toder for her surgery. She is only about 5 weeks out from having it done. She has been back for one fill. She has lost 15 pounds. She liked Dr. Toder and thought the staff at the hospital was great. She doesn't feel totally restricted yet. I don't know how many fills will be necessary to get to that point.

I just got back from my appointment with the psychiatrist. He told me that I was "good to go" and that he was sending his reccomendations to Lynn Bolduc. So now I guess I just wait for an appointment from Dr. Toder's office I am getting excited again...it's hard to keep your chin up when it seems to take so long for everything to happen.
