Looking for a primary care doctor..
Hi,
I'm trying to find a doctor to become my primary care doctor as I've just realized that my old pc doctor doesn't really understand that obesity is a big issue. I'm looking for a doctor in the bangor area, but am willing to travel (my family lives in biddeford area) who has had some experience with obesity and would be willing to sign me up for some sort of program. My current doctor has been telling me for years that some exercise and diet will cure me, even though I've come to her many times about my issues. She has told me that she would not reccomend surgery to patients and that there were no medicines or programs that she would reccomend either. My BMI is currently 54 and I need help. Nothing has worked for me, I've done weigh****chers, joined curves, and still i keep gaining weight. Anyway, I would greatly appreciate anyone telling me some names of good doctors who will actually listen and have experience with obesity. If you happen to know one that is covered by anthem, that would be a bonus, but anyone would really help.
Thanks!

Hey there.
My PCP is in Brunswick. A long way out of the way, but if you have family in B'ford it's not that far.
Her nurse practicioner is great...I actually like her even more than the Dr herself, is the one *****commended to me that I look into a WLS.
Let me know if you're interested, and I'll e-mail you her info.
