Hi Mary, You helped me so I will try to help you. as you know I have not been through the lap band surgery yet but will soon. I go to the Emmc WLS program they are awesome there and i have some ideas for you that I have in my book that they give us going to the class. So here goes, In our book it says 2-3 weeks post op your stomach is still irratable.... but it gives us a sample menu as follows. 1 scrambled egg for breakfast with a tbs of shredded cheese. no sugar added carnation instant breakfast. Also says you could have 1 table spoon of mashed potatoes 1 tablespoon of green beans. 1/4 cup cottage cheese, 1/4 cup lean ham or chiken with low fat gravy CHEW CHEW CHEW..... 1/8 CUP OF APPLE SAUCE. Did they mention UNJURY brand protien meal shakes they do have a web site we sampled them at our last meeting and i thought they were good. also as you mentioned you can have yogurt low fat of course and low fat smoothies Fruits it says pureed or soft low fiber fruits such as apple sauce apricots, ripe bananas, all canned fruits packed in their own juice. Does this help at all or did you already have this info? I will help with what I know from our meetings and my binder that that they give us and teach us from. Hope this helps, hey i added you as a friend .......................... Hope you will keep in touch I am so interested in how you are doing as I Will be going through this soon. Good Luck. Julie

Hi Maryjo, I had gastric bypass on 1/9/07 and my 3 week follow up was this past monday and they assured me that the left side pain is normal and will pass and today I have a large relief from it. I went back to work tues. They said they cut threw that muscle and it also collects fluid which causes pain and a lump. they told me to massage it and stretch the muscle. Food, lets see, soft, I like refried beans, fat free... cottage cheese, cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery, yogart. I am starting my soft food diet now and cooked veggies go down good, so does home made veggie soup. lunch meat, ham, chix or tuna salad if you can do mayo, which I can not. I am one of the unlucky, lucky ones, I get dumping from fats and sugars so I am very limited on what I can eat. but if you had lap band you don't get dumping. try different soups. meatloaf pouched eggs. everyone is different you just have to try. chew good and go slow. Hope you feel relief soon, take care, cheryl
