I'M APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas gift. About six days before X-mas, I received a letter in the mail from Dr. Cobean's office stating that my surgery was booked for February 12, 2007, (at least a month earlier than I was expecting). Then comes the hard part, waiting to find out if MaineCare would approve me for the LapBand and hoping that it wasn't going to involve having to do any appeals. Well on the evening of December 23, 2006, I opened a letter from MaineCare stating that they APPROVED ME FOR LAPBAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sooooooo excited, it took them less than 48 hours to make the decision, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!

Congratulations to you!! I had my lap band surgery two days ago (jan 22) with Dr. Cobean. I am now on the 'other side' lol. Stick to your preop diet, have all the foods you will need on hand after surgery, and plan to have someone either stay with you at the hospital or with you at your home...you will need help getting up and down for a couple days. HELLO MISSY!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU, from now on everyone will be seeing much less of you and that's okay! I haven't been counting down the days until I hit the 3 weeks pre-op date, this coming Monday I go for my pre-op appt, I can't wait. Since Christmas, I did start to have some food mourning thoughts, like "WOW I won't be able to eat that or at least not for a very long time" and started to say to myself "what the hell am I doing?" But that only lasted a few days here and there and I am definitely over it and looking forward to seeing much less of myself in the near future. Keep up the great work and please keep me posted on how you are doing and I will definitely check back in with you and let you know how I'm doing. Take care Jennifer
