seen the surgeon!

Today was my appointment with Dr. Clough. I went to see him in Bangor, and my first impression of him was that he was a VERY nice guy. He came into the room and introduced himself to me and my fiancee, and then he went on to describe the procedure, complications,etc. And he also went over a pamphlet that was given out by the Association of Bariatric Surgeons, in which he went over the diagram that had the RNY description in it. He had then told me that I was a good candidate and that he would be getting the paperwork to Augusta for approval through MaineCare. He was such a great person to talk with. Best yet, I lost 6 lbs since I went to the Dietician last month, I thought that was great, can't wait to lose more. He also said that I shouldn't have a problem getting approved through MaineCare. The only other thing that he wants me to do is have a gallbladder ultrasound and blood work to check my vitamin levels. I can't wait for that approval letter ! I very much hope they will approve me. Gettin a little nervous now ! Will let you all know what happens next. Thanks for the support everyone.

Hi Kristy, I'm happy to hear that you finally got to see the surgeron!! I know the excitement is building for you! I too, am waiting for approval from MaineCare. My paperwork was submitted on Wednesday (11/29). It is pretty nerve wracking waiting for the go-ahead. But once the approval comes, we can celebrate and move forward with this new chapter in our lives! Good Luck with the Ultrasound. I had my Gallbladder out last year so I can skip that test. Will you be having your Gallbladder taken out as part of the WLS? Keep the faith! You'll be celebrating in no time! Blessings, Yvonne

I did go and have my gallbladder ultrasound done, and it looks like I probably will be having my gallbladder out with the surgery. I did call MaineCare, and they received my paperwork on 11/28... just still waiting on approval. Let us know if you get your approval... Good luck
