Hey Maine folks.....I have a question

Is it very hard to find quality rentals there? I am planning to move to the Bangor area spring next year from California and I just want to get an idea if rentals are easy or hard to come by until I decide to buy. I am an RN so I think I should be able to find work fairly easily.

Well, what are you looking for? We have apartments that one bedrooms could go for 750. a month, condo, townhouses go for 850 to 900 a month. Houses go for at least 750 a month plus utilities. EMMC are always looking for RN's. Check out their website, that is the only place that you can apply for any jobs with that hospital. Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, Maine. We have St. Joseph's hospital as well. Rehabilitation Centers, glorified nursing homes and nursing homes. Wish you luck, keep me posted on your search.

Thanks Linda. That souds like great info. Out here, even in an area as remote and small as Eureka, rents are much higher. I am paying just under 1500 for a 1500 sf 3 bed house wth no central heat. Houses start here at about 1000 for a 2 bed-IF you are lucky. Average is 12-1500 and on up to well over 2500. I have checked out both St Josephs and EMMC online. I plan a trip back there ossibly as a travel nurse early next year to get the "lay of the land" so to speak. Thanks for the response!
