I am a post-op but I have a friend in Northern Maine (Mapleton) who needs some help. He went through quite a bit of the process to get WLS but hit a brick wall. He can not afford to the 250.00 for the phsyc eval. so he has been denied WLS. He has Maine Care ( I don't know anything about this medical coverage) He works for MCCain. He was approved until he couldn't pay for the phsyc eval. He is willingly to do whatever he can to get the WLS. Does anyone know of a Dr. that would do the eval. using Maine Care or a lawyer who will help him appeal the denial. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated ( he does not have an internet connection so send correspondence to me please) Thanks in advance ~Donna~ (a former Maine-iac from Mars Hill/Bridgewater)

Hi, Is it because he could not find a pyshc doc who accepts MaineCare? Jen

I'm surprised thats the only problem his insurance gave him. I was on my husbands insurance (through McCains) and they require a one-year supervised diet - no exceptions. Psych evals should be covered through Maine Care if his surgeon has requested one. Do you know who his surgeon is? Amy S
