I got approved!! Whoo Hoo!

Hey all...I like to check in on the Maine messageboard occasionally and I'm glad to see so many posts lately! Got approved last week and now I'm waiting for Dr. Toder's office to call with a date. I'm a little nervous. My main concern is the mental part...just how ready am I? will I be able to handle this? I've been trying to think about what it would be like and prepare myself but this whole process has taken me 16 months and I was starting to say to heck with it. Then after 2 appeals the ins. co. wrote to say they approved it! Now I need to get in the right frame of mind again. It comes at a pretty good time since my hubby is being evaluated for diabetes. We can both watch what we eat! (I hate the "diet" term). Anyway, thanks for listening...hope all is well with you Ann and I hope to join you shortly!! C/

Congratulations on your approval! You'll have a date in no time. I'm doing great and you will too. The staff at EMMC is wonderful. the nurses are very kind and attentive and I would use that hospital again in a heartbeat. keep posting on your progress and I promise I will too. I'm doing a happy dance for ya Ann

Congrats on your approval. I am waiting for my appt with Dr. Toder, it is supposed to come in the mail any day now. Are you having a lap or open ? Good luck and I hope it comes soon for you.

I'm hoping to have lap...I guess a lot depends on the belly fat and if she can get around your liver...I don't want to take any more time than I have to off work (I'm self employed)...but...whatever! I'll do exactly as they say! C/

Congrats!!! I still remember how excited I was when I got my insurance approval, and I share the excitement with others when they get their approval! The mental part is a big part of it, but it all falls in to place. Good luck on your journey, keep us posted on your progress! Jill

Congrats on your approval!!!! I had my surgery with Dr. Toder on 6/28 she is awesome and so is emmc. great experence.. I hope all goes well with you as well..
