It is a beautiful day here in Maine and I hope everyone is doing well. A few post back Ann stated how quiet the Maine board is and she is right. Now I know as a born and raised Mainer we have a lot to say and are not shy to speak up. I bet with a little more effort we can liven up this board. It would be nice to hear from people on their experience before and after surgery, funny stories, serious stories and anything in between. I would also love to hear from people who have Dr. Cobean or Dr. Wolff as their surgeons. I have seen on the main message board they do a wake up call daily thread. Would anyone else be interested in doing that? It could be a great way to get us motivated for the day ahead. Enjoy the sunshine and I look forward to hearing your responses. Hugs, Ronda

Hi Ronda, I agree it is a very nice day today. I don't have any stories for ya today, too busy trying to get my house cleaned for surgery. I've just finished shampooing the carpets and now onto the bathrooms with the bleach. I'd volunteer for the wake up call but I'm not much of an early bird. ((((Ronda)))) Ann

Hi Ann, When you done do you want to come to my house??? I have actually hired my husbands granddaughter to clean for me this summer. She wants to earn some money, but getting a job has been tough between driver's ed and basketball camp and practice everyday. So she is very happy to help. She is such a good kid she would do it for free if I asked her. I would be able to start the thread but it wouldn't be until 8ish. My computer at home is dial-up and old so I usually do everything from work. Well, I hope you take a break from cleaning this weekend and get out and enjoy the nice weather. Ronda

Hi there Auntie Glasses! (What a catchy name!! ) I am aslo looking into surgery with Dr. Cobean. I have my consult July 25th. I have been watiing for over 3 months! It is finally getting close. How far are you into the process? I live in Southern Maine...Limington actually. I tried going thru the Augusta Bariatric Center, but then decided to go thru the Casco Bay Surgery Center with Dr. Cobean. I am looking into the laproscopic lap band. I am wondering tho, if the lap band is going to be restrictive enough for me. I have about 75 pounds to lose therefore I don't think I need the whole bypass surgery. Another thought I have is, if for some reason the lap band fails to work for me I will still be able to explore the bypass option. Sigh........I just want something to work for me!! Good luck and hope to hear back from you! Melissa
