Hi, After your dietician meeting you will be scheduled to meet with your surgeon, once you have met with your surgeon your paperwork will be submitted for insurance approval. I was told to lose some if I could before I met with the surgeon or at least maintain. My appointments turned out to be only a few days apart due to a cancellation, I had maintained. I was warned to not gain weight between those meetings as you would most likely be turned away. The pre-op instructions were to take vitamins, excercise, lose or maintain weight, no liquid diet, no bowel prep, not with my surgeon anyway. Just nothing to eat by mouth after 12 midnight the night before surgery. I hope this helps.

I agree with Ann , I had mine done at EMMC on 6/28 and there was no pre-op diet, bowel pep or anything like that. Just dont gain between the dietician and the surgeon. Once you meet the surgeon they will decide if the surgery is right for you. Then they submit to insurance. I meet Dr. Toder on a friday and was approved on tuesday, I am sure they all dont happen that fast but mine went quick. I hope this will help if you have any other question just ask or email me I would be glad to answer what I can. Good luck on the surgeon and insurance process.. Richard
