Hi, I haven't posted in forever. I'll be 2 years out in August and saw my surgeon on 6/12 and he says that I'm ready for a panni. Anyone have experience with MaineCare??? Thanks!!

KJ, since this operation is an elective surgery, it's doubtful that MaineCare will cover it. The purpose of MaineCare is to temporarily help those in need or long term for those with disabilities. It will not cover elective surgery. It will cover wgt loss surgery if deemed medically necessary secondary to diabetes, HTN, etc.
Hi KJ,
I'm not 100% sure but I think that if you can prove your excess skin is causing health problems (like painful rashes or boils, etc.) MaineCare will at least consider it. But as with most things with them, you have to show proof that you NEED it not just want it. Check with your doctor, he might be able to help you with this. Or you can call Maine Care customer service and ask them about coverage. They might even have a website...I tried to find it, but my computer kept freezing up on me. Sorry I can't be more help.
GOOD LUCK with this!
