Topic: RE: Revision Surgery
Hi,  I have been researching for a revision from RNY to the DS.  I called Dr elariny's office on Tuesday, but the receptionist was not sure if he does the revision that I neeed.  She was suppose to call me back today but didn't.   I also called Dr. Michael Schweitzer in Baltimore and he doesn't do the surgery I need.  There are only a few scattered around the US that does the revision that I need.
Good luck in your researchand good luck.  RNY was good the first year or two and it has been a struggle every since.  You know the saying measure twice Cut once, that goes for WLS, research , research and then research some more then pick what is right for you.  I only wish I knew about the DS 10 years ago.

Hi everyone I had my surgery on nov 3rd and came back home on the 7th of nov.... I'm very happy that I made this decision for myself. It's just that since I've been home I have not lost as much weight as I thought I would [being that I'm existing on broth and protein shakes] and I'm worried that I might have stretched my pouch because I'm able to get down more broth then they gave me in the hospital. All of these things might just be irrational fears but I just don't want to mess this up after I've done all the work to get here....if anyone has any advice or just words of encouragement please reply I need it right now.

Hey! I always had trouble finding people in MD who aren't an hour or more away from me. I live in Bowie and would definitely go to Annapolis or crofton or something to meet.  I have several family members who are 5+ years post RNY but other than that I live on a WLS island, population: me. I notice the longterm RNYers I know don't eat the same as I still have to and plan on having to forever.

Hi back Ellen!  Pretty horse!

I would love to try and put together some kind of get together for Maryland folk -- maybe not a regular thing but every one and a while.  The OH conference in NY was my first "group" event of any kind and it was definately interesting to be around a group of WLS folk -- totally different experience.

I went to Dr. Averbach for my lap band and he does the sleeve. I have had a wonderful time with him, his office staff, didn't have the best day of operation experience at St. Agnes but that has nothing to do with him, they were just understaffed as I bet everyone is these days. I really feel he's an excellent and talented doctor. Highly recommend looking into his office.

Hi everyone,

I have not been actve on here here ages. I hope everyone has been doing well! I should probably make more real life contacts for support and stuff, though my life is so busy and most of the time I don't even think about my band, it's just become a part of me.

I met a small group of people in Baltimore nearly 2 years ago right when I had my surgery. I would love to catch up. Say hi sometime!

I am researching to get my first surgery and DS keeps coming up. I can tell you if you are interested in DS Dr. Hazem Elariny really is the best option for folks in this area. He has wonderful statistics also.

I will be calling soon.

I too have issues getting places when I don't know where I am going. You might want to invest in a GPS. It's totally worth it.

Good luck on your journey!

 Hi Folks-

Change is plans!  I will be leading the group from 6-7pm in the Alagia Auditorium this evening.  We are going to be discussing holiday challenges and how to overcome those that might make you go off your eating/exercising plan.  Bring your challenges and bring your success!
