Topic: RE: Support meeting in MD?
Glad to know there is a support group in the area. I'm in Waldorf. I look forward to meeting with you.
Topic: Hello
I didn't realize there was a Maryland Message Board. I wanted to say hello. I had a VSG on 2/6/12. It doesn't look like there is much activity here sadly but I did want to say hi and wish you all the best on your journey.

Where in Southern Maryland are you? I found that St. Marys Hospital in Leonardtown has support groups the 1st saturday of every month.

Hi - good luck to you, I'm sending prayers and happy thoughts your way!
The first few days aren't terrible - at the hospital they will have you on a pain pump so while you will be tired and a little uncomfortable, it won't be intolerable.
The best advice is to remember the newby mantra - sip, walk, rest, repeat!
Good luck!

Topic: Surgery Tomorrow!
Hi! I am a Maryland newbie who is scheduled for surgery (Bypass) tomorrow morning. Needless to say, I am scared senseless!
I am doing the pre-surgery cleanse today and it's no fun. I drank 20 oz of Citrate this morning and it's after 3:00 and I am not hungry at all. Of course, that is a good thing because I can only have clear liquids anyways.
I have my surgery at GW Hospital in DC.
What should I expect the first 2-3 days or so?
Wish me luck!
Topic: RE: Tummy tuck after weight loss
I'm at this point now....I get a lot of back pain, I get redness, irritation and rashes inside my bellybutton all the time now and irritation at the very lower end of my belly/top of my thighs where the skin hangs down. And I know this summer I will have irritation 10x more plus rashes under the breasts as well. I know documentation and lots of it is the key to getting insurance approval. But who does this documentation? Your PCP? Your bariatric surgeon? Or the plastic surgeon?
For right now I just want the tummy tuck and abdominoplasty. I'm in a size 10 but know that once all this hanging skin is gone I'd fit in a 6 easy...maybe even a 4.
Down the road I'd like to do the breasts, arms, that sag on the back and the sag below the buttocks.....one at a time. (unless I win the lottery of course LOL)
