Great Job! I had my sleeve done by Dr. Peter Liao - same group as your Dr. Mo! Love GBMC!
Your in good hands. I had Realize band surgery at St. Agnes with Dr. Kuldeep Singh on 12-3-10. I'm still a work in process I have to go back to Dr. Singh for a fill soon I'm starting to over eat but trying to control it.
Yes you just have to pay extra for tv. There is also wifi, but the pain meds knocked me out and I didn****ch tv at all. Good luck :)
It just hit me that I will have surgery on Election Day. I certainly want to see election night coverage, even if I'm feeling crappy. Does St. Agnes have TVs in the rooms and do they get any cable stations? Is there WiFi?
I can bring my laptop and tether my cell phone, but I wanted to know if I needed to in advance.
My 1 must have is some sort of lip balm - my favorite is Burt's Bees but any will do. The hospital provides gowns designed for obese patients, the slipper socks (you might want your own slippers.
I didn't need any reading material (I was way too groggy for reading or playing on the computer). Bring loose pants and shirt for ride home, and a small pillow to hug (stabilize your stomach) on the ride home - bumps hurt and hugging a pillow helps!
Congrats on picking a GREAT surgeon - I think Dr. Averbach is wonderful!
I had my surgery just after the new wing was opened. The nurses were wonderful to me - no complaints whatsoever. The room was lovely - mine wasn't a weird shape as mentioned in an earlier post. Each room was private with a private bathroom - very nice for recovery. Best part for me was the view as I did my walks in the halls - great view of Baltimore and the stadiums!
I have been very please with Dr. A, his staff, the nutritionists, and the nurses and other staff at St. Agnes.
I will be having my surgery there on Nov. 6th and appreciate all the info everyone has provided. Was there anything you wish you brought with you to the hospital?

Hi All, I am new to the forum and was really just looking to see how people are doing after surgery. I have stared a new program with a company called CoreLIFE. They assist with furthering my weight loss goals by using Vitamins, exercise, and meal control. I have seen great results with them and wanted to not only let the forum know but also see if any one has had any luck working with them. They are located in Severna Park. Below is a little "blurb" about the company.
"CoreLife challenges conventional wisdom about weight loss and views excessive weight as a medical concern requiring medical attention. Under the medical direction of a doctor, CoreLife offers a permanent solution to weight loss by combining advanced medical techniques with a tailored exercise and nutrition program."
Hope this post finds everyone relatively unscathed from Sandy. What a mess! Particularly on our Eastern Shore! OMG! The devastation in Crisfield and Ocean City is unbelievable. It's amazing there wasn't more loss of life. In Baltimore, we were very lucky to not have anything but garden damage and our power didn't even flicker, which is amazing!
Sending good, healing vibes to all those affected!
