Topic: RE: Possibly OT: Plastic surgeons in Maryland, VA, DC?
The places I've looked into have free consults. Not sure where she is going, what area of the country. some areas might have more demand so can charge. I would be surprised if you would have to pay for many of them. good luck yourself!
Topic: Reversing RNY?
Hey everyone, been thinking of reversing my RNY. For a few reasons, but the main reason is now rearing its head again, I am always cold. Last night kind of did it for me, I always thought it was because the wife was obese the she always complained about being too hot, but last night while waiting for the girls at the karate school, (three hrs worth) they had the door open and I froze. I had to go out and sit in the truck and run the heater. Now I was in jeans, thermal shirt and T shirt. I didn't take a jacket because I did figure they would have the dooor open. I need the house around 73 or so to be comfortable, or wear my coat inside. I had a cold or something last week and couldn't eat, weight dropped to 175, and I can't catch back up. I don't know what to think or do? Any thoughts? I "feel fine" and I think I like not being 300lbs but is it worth it?

A friend of mine told me she had to pay somewhere between 90 and 200 for her consults!! Is that true? Man that's steep if so. I keep hearing about this Dr in Texas that is so amazing. Not sure I could bring myself to travel for it though--seems hard enough without travelling!!
As I said, I still have a bit before I want to consider doing it, but I'm gearing up now and really want to start preparing my body for it with even better nutrition and exercise.
Good luck!

Hi Suzie...Welcome from another newbie. :-) I couldn't agree with you more. I'd done a lot of research before joing this site but you can't beat actual experience. The people in this community have already done, doing it or getting ready to do it like we are. Every stage of that process brings knowledge that people can share. It's amazing how generous some people are with themselves.
I look forward to supporting others as I feel I'm being supported here. 6 months will fly by just you wait. I'll be telling you good luck and save a spot on the loser's bench for me. :-)

I am new as well, I am going to my first informational session this Saturday (10/16/10). I am just hoping I will qualify because I have begun to get my hopes up and and can't stop thinking about it. I am not doing full force research until I KNOW I am eligible. Who are you going to?

Topic: RE: Bypass: cream of crab soup --yes or no
DLegare-
If you really love cream of crab soup, please do not try it. I tried CC soup when I was about three weeks out. It was wonderful but.... I got such a bad wave of nausea afterwards that I will never eat it again.
Try something a little lighter, maybe New England or a water based soup instead.

I love it too. I'm 3 years out and all I can do is try a teaspoon of it when my daughter orders it. ugh! Sorry to say. The fat kills me. It's just too rich for me. I work parttme in a restaurant and the Cream of Crab is by far the best soup we serve. I asked the Manager once how much butter was in it and he told me about 5 lbs. That was enough to keep me away. Good luck.
